cleansing & balancing the crown chakra

open upward while staying rooted here
written by dawn

True connection does not pull you out of your body. it helps you come home more fully.

The crown chakra is connected to spiritual connection, higher awareness, divine guidance, trust, surrender, and the sense of belonging to something larger.

When this energy feels blocked or ungrounded, you may feel spiritually disconnected, overly mental, spacey, or open in a way that does not feel anchored. This mudra and mantra practice invites connection without leaving the body behind.

This is a practice for opening gently while staying rooted.

when it helps

This helps when I:
• feel spiritually disconnected
• feel too much in your head
• feel spacey or disconnected
• want to connect with guidance in a grounded way
• begin a meditation, ritual, or quiet reflection
• have been in my head too long

how i do it

I begin by noticing the floor beneath me.

Before I open upward, I ground downward.

I bring my hands near my heart or above my head if that feels comfortable. I touch my ring fingers together, pointing upward, and let the rest of my hands relax naturally.

Then I repeat softly: om (pronounced: ohm)

Or I let silence be the mantra.

I imagine light at the crown of my head, opening like a soft flower. At the same time, I keep part of my attention in my hips, legs, and feet.

I do not float away from myself. I let spirit meet me here.
