cleansing & balancing the root chakra

come back to the ground beneath you
written by dawn

You are allowed to be here. you are allowed to be supported.

The root chakra is connected to grounding, safety, stability, and your relationship with the physical world.

When this energy feels unsettled, you may feel anxious, scattered, unsupported, financially stressed, or disconnected from your body. This simple mudra and mantra practice invites your energy to settle downward so you can feel more present, steady, and held.

This is a practice for returning to the ground beneath you.

when it helps

This helps when I:
• feel anxious or unsettled
• feel disconnected from my body
• worry about money, home, or stability
• feel like I are floating above my life instead of living inside it
• before I make practical decisions
• after enduring emotional stress or overstimulation

how i do it

I sit comfortably with my feet touching the floor if possible.

I touch the tip of each thumb to the tip of each ring finger and rest my hands on my thighs, palms facing down.

I take a slow breath and let my body feel the weight of the chair, the floor, and the Earth beneath me.

Then I repeat softly or silently:
lam (pronounced: lum)

I let the sound drop low into my hips, legs, and feet.

Sometimes I only do this for three breaths. Sometimes I stay longer.

I do not try to force myself to feel grounded. I simply give my body a shape, a sound, and a place to return.
